So I was listening to Peggy Noonan on the Laura Ingraham show this morning and she was talking about the failed presidency of George Bush. She said the democratization of the world has failed and we should've gone after Osama more and not Iraq. I think she has been going to too many dinner parties with her cronies in the elite left media. If I didn't know any better then I could've been listening to an Obama surrogate. Okay lets just remind those conservatives that want to remain on the guest lists of Meet the Press and the other red carpet shows that you have to question a Republican in order to get your remarks heard.
I guess we should continue to debate the Iraq war. Was it the right strategy? History will tell for sure, not the pundits that want to stay in good graces with their liberal string pullers. If the Iraq government stands on it's own and becomes a flourishing democracy, will we look back on it as a failure? Can it become a neutral hedge against the forward ambitions of Iran? Will the people of Iran see their neighbors with rights they don't have and not revolt in time?
But the biggest reason that the Iraq war was and is a success is this...WE HAVEN'T BEEN ATTACKED SINCE 9/11. We created a fishbowl where we could fight terrorists with our army on a battlefield. We didn't wait to become defensive and let our flight attendants have to be on the front lines in the war. Isn't the adage that the best defense is a good offense applicable here. And if you heard anything from Osama and that is Iraq was the central battleground in the war on terror.
So my suggestion is to Peggy and the rest of the elites in our media, go out and buy a fishbowl from a pet store. Bring it home and put it in the center of your living room. Now imagine you have an infestation and you don't where the rodents are in your house. Could it be a sound strategy to put some bait in the fishbowl to attract the rodent and fight them where you can without having to look all over you mansion?
